I have to say that many of you keep your website updated with much of this information already. What doing this in a blog would provide is a subscription feed that parents could subscribe to using RSS so they would automatically know when you've posted something new.
That's the beauty of RSS and blogging. I invite you to consider using this method in addition to the other ways you communicate with students and parents.
